It is fair to say that some 10 years or so ago many visitors to Marbella would not have given San Pedro de Alcantara a second thought. Back then it was a traditional Spanish town with a main road running through it and a town centre with some restaurants, bars and shops. The beach area still attracted locals but many people would never have thought have making a day of it to visit.

These days however, San Pedro del Alcantara, Marbella is a thriving town with a truly international feel. People from all over Europe have made it their home and since the building of the underpass to take traffic away from the centre.

In addition, the town built a ‘boulevard’ and stylish footbridge and almost overnight visitors from Marbella and Estepona started to come and spend the days at the weekend walking around town.

As more people came to visit, more restaurants, shops and businesses opened up. Then more new residential buildings were erected both in town and down towards the beach. With the infrastructure increasing so did the number of residents.

The promenade by the sea was linked all the way to Puerto Banus and through to Marbella, meaning you could walk or cycle to both destinations along the beach. With more people coming to the boulevard, more chiringuitos and beach bars opened.

San Pedro de Alcantara Marbella has now become a holiday resort in its own right. People staying in other resorts actually get in taxis and come to San Pedro for nights out. There are lots of restaurants and bars to choose from covering all types of cuisine.

New Property San Pedro de Alcantara
On the coastal side of the road (Nueva Alcantara), Taylor Wimpey constructed two modern developments called Acqua Apartments and then Los Arqueros Beach. After these, further towards the beach they constructed a luxury development called Jade Beach.

Near here another developer constructed some luxury villas called Perlas del Mar and right now, Taylor Wimpey is about to start construction of some new homes opposite Los Arqueros Beach.

As with the other developments it is expected that these will virtually sell out off-plan.
