Super Luxury Hotel For Guadalmina

The local council board has finally given its approval to the planning permission for the renovation and enlargement of the famous Hotel Guadalmina located in Guadalmina Baja,San Pedro Alcántara.

There will be a total investment of some 55 million euros, elevating its rating from 4 to 5 Star Grand Luxury while also creating 250 employment opportunities.

The Marbella Mayoress, Ángeles Muñoz, has suggested that this project, which will commence as soon as possible and span a period of 1.5 years. It aligns with seven other establishments in the region that have seized the opportunity provided by the special decree issued by the Board of Andalusia to modernize and enhance their current facilities.

The Mayoress stated that the Lima, Estrella del Mar, Los Monteros, El Fuerte, Pinomar, San Cristóbal, and Meliá Don Pepe hotels have undergone similar improvements.

Accompanied by Deputy Mayor Javier García, the Councillor has emphasised that Guadalmina “has committed to an internationally renowned management brand, boasts a top-tier restaurant, and offers services that enable it to remain operational all year round.”

She further noted that the hotel contributes to the extensive network of establishments in this significant sector that our town possesses, thereby enhancing its national and international prominence. The mayoress proudly proclaimed that Marbella “holds the distinction of being the European city with the highest number of 5-star beds per capita.”

With regards to Hotel Guadalmina, she mentioned that it was originally erected in 1959, underwent restoration in 1999, and is now set to undergo a remarkable transformation to make it a luxury hotel venue, and the highest rated hotel in San Pedro de Alcantara.

Furthermore, she clarified that, thanks to the decree issued by the Junta de Andalucía as part of an initiative aimed at reviving the sector’s economy through the modernization and elevation of establishments, Guadalmina will expand by an additional 1,220 square metres.

Subsequent to the completion of the construction, the hotel will encompass a total of 70 new rooms, bringing the tally to 250, as outlined by the mayor, who expressed gratitude towards Hotel Guadalmina for “placing their trust in our city and making this significant investment.”
