La Cocina de Santos
Calle ávila nº1
San Pedro Alcantara
952 19 60 29
Large restaurant with seating for over 150 people, both inside and on the outside terrace, so great for events and large groups.
Authentic Spanish tapas, and at very reasonable prices, this restaurant is often packed out with locals, especially in the summer months, when it’s warm enough to sit outside. It’s a great atmosphere, and the staff are always friendly. This is one of our favourite places to come for tapas in San Pedro, and often take people here when they are visiting to give them the ‘tapas’ experience.
El Comercio
Calle Andalucia 13,
San Pedro Alcántara
952 853 644
A large restaurant, perfect for large groups and parties. Inside it has a very typically Spanish look and feel, with dark wood tables, chairs, and benches, a large wine selection, and a tapas counter on the bar. They have a large menu with a wonderful selection of fish and seafood dishes including Rosada (grilled or fried), Adobe (marinated balls of fish), Boquerones, Pulpo (octopus), Gambas Pil-Pil, and Calamares.
For meat eaters, you can have a steak, small fillets of beef with a sauce, or slices of steak to share.
Some of the favourite dishes on the menu include Berenjenas con Miel (fried aubergines with honey…best on the coast), Fried Camembert with Raspberry Sauce, Juevos Rotos con Jamon (Broken eggs with ham), and Fried strips of chicken with a sweet and sour sauce.

Family friendly restaurant that is a favourite with the locals and tourists, Alfredo’s is one of San Pedro’s most famous restaurants, having been there for over 20 years. It is always busy, and can be difficult to get a table in the summer, so you must book!
Typical Spanish décor and cuisine, Alfredo’s has an extensive menu of tapas, dishes to share, and main meals. There is fresh fish and meat available, some of it on display when you walk in!

We discovered this restaurant when they liked a post on our Instagram page. We are big foodies here at the San Pedro Guide so when we saw the photos, we knew we had to try it. El Candil Restaurant & Bar
C. Andalucía, s/n, 29670
San Pedro Alcántara, Málaga
This is another San Pedro institution. Run by the charismatic Alfonso, it has probably one of the best wine collections in the area. Alfonso is highly respected in San Pedro and if you need wine recommendations, he is somewhat of an expert. On a recent visit to El Candil I got chatting to a lady at the wine cellar when she pointed to a bottle and said “that bottle is mine”. I of course politely said “please you have it”. What she meant was that it was HER vineyard and that was HER wine. IT WAS LOVELY!!
Restaurante Degusto
Av. Pablo Ruiz Picasso, 39,
29670 San Pedro Alcántara,
Málaga
+34 951 62 93 67
This is located on the upper road of San Pedro not far from Mercadona and next to the Dominos pizza and virtually opposite the charity shop Mariposa. They are open for lunch and dinner serving traditional Spanish food with a modern twist. The oysters were great and some of their tapas plates were outstanding, especially the char grilled leaks. We can also highly recommend the Chateaubriand.
International Cuisine (restaurants & bars serving a range of cuisines)
The Hogan Stand
Avenida Luis Braille
San Pedro Alcantara
952 78 62 31
A great place to meet up with friends for a few drinks, or for a hearty meal. The Hogan Stand is owned by Irishman John Hogan, and managed by Ross Duggan. The staff are all from various parts of Ireland, and are very chatty and friendly. You can even pop in on your own, and there’ll always be someone to chat to. They regularly have live music, both during the week, and at weekends, as well as a weekly quiz night every Thursday, hosted by TRE’s Hannah Murray. They also have TV’s showing all the important sporting events, as well as the regular football and rugby matches.
If it’s a light pub snack you’re after, they do things like Nachos, Fish or Chicken Goujons, and Toasties. They also have a beautiful restaurant area, with some delicious dishes including Chicken Roulade, John Dory on a bed of Chive Mash, as well as Irish Fillet Steak.

Da Brunos San Pedro
Urb. San Pedro del Mar,

Chiringuito Guayaba Beach
Playa Linda Vista, La Gitanilla,
s/n, 29670 San Pedro
952 78 49 69
Only open during the summer this is a beach bar with a very cool vibe. It gets packed when it is open as it is literally on the beach. One of our favourite venues for lunch and dinner during the summer months and the food is simple but great.
El Ancla Beach Club & Restuarant
Av. Carmen Sevilla, s/n,
29670 Marbella, Málaga
While this is more known for being a beach club, they have a wonderful restaurant overlooking the sea. If you book try and get a table on the terrace right by the sea. It feels like you are dining on a cruise ship! I always feel that the decor and service is very much that of the south of France, but the food is very much about the fish and seafood of Spain. Not cheap but a great experience!

Bar Nio is a great bar to come to after dinner to listen to great music, chat with friends, or even have a game of darts! They have a large music collection, and even though it is Spanish run, you’ll often here the likes of REM, The Beatles, Nirvana, and Oasis. A really cool place to come for a few drinks
The best restaurants in Marbella is a personal opinion so we can only offer our own experiences and of course tastes in food. Luckily we like most types of cuisine so can be quite open in terms of what we consider are the best restaurants in San Pedro de Alcantara.
Indian: In our opinion Bombay Grill is the best Indian restaurant in San Pedro for both eating in and takeaway
Italian: Funnily enough there is not a great choice if Italian restaurants in San Pedro, but if we had to choose based on a consistent level of good food and service it would be Da Brunos.
Chinese: For us there is only one standout and that is Nuevo Siglo
Gastro: For a great international menu of gastro style food then it is certainly The Hogan Stand. Always spot on, great prices, good portions and always friendly staff.
Spanish: This really depends on price but one of our everyday go to tapas bars in La Fria. Very cheap, great food and always busy.
Yes there are some great upmarket restaurants in San Pedro. Some of our recommendations in this category include Chef by Divot. Here you can share a chateaubriand, order a Cesar Salad which is prepared at your table or many other lovely plates of food. Albert and Simon is obviously high on the list too. One of the most established restaurants and you can consider it more fine dining.
Another is Benisty which always has some great inspired food with lots of fusion style dishes on the menu.
