Next Tuesday is the starting day for this year’s fair in San Pedro Alcántara, which will be located at the same place as last year on Avda. Mediterraneo – the main street that leads down to the beach. We advise people not to drive through this area, as traffic is busy and the police usually cut the street of traffic anyhow, so best is to use alternative routes if you can.
Below is the agenda for the whole week, which is filled with events, concerts and activities especially for children:
TUESDAY 15th
19:00 H. Parade of Giants and Bigheads
Departing from the Church Square, C /Revilla, C /Lagasca, C /Jerez, C /Córdoba, C /Pepe Osorio, C /Luis Braile, Avda. Marqués del Duero and back to the Church Square
21:30 H. Fireworks on the main San Pedro beach, Playa La Salida
22.00 H. Official Inauguration of the fairground lights at the main arch entrance (Avda. Mediterráneo), and opening of the attractions
Continuing at the Municipal Tent:
- Coronation and band presentation of the Queens and Kings who were selected last month organised by the San Pedro town hall
- Reading the Proclamation of the fair and festivities in San Pedro Alcántara 2019, by David Galiano
- Coronation and bands presentation for children and young King and Queen winners as well as Miss Sympathy, Miss San Pedro Alcántara and her ladies in waiting
- Election of the Popular Queen from the ladies at the municipal tent
- Then a dance lead by the New Evening Orchestra
WEDNESDAY 16TH
13.30 H. Opening of the day fair at the arch entrance of the precinct, where different bars with dancing are located accompanied by live music
Other marquees:
- Children’s marquee installed in the precinct, open fair every day with activities for kids.
- Marquee “Active Participation Centre San Pedro Alcántara I and II” located in the fairground, with dance and the following activities:
18:00 H. Pasodobles Contest and Sevillanas of Centre I
19:00 H. Pasodobles Contest and Sevillanas of Centre II

17:00 H. Grand Children’s Party at the municipal marquee with different activities especially aimed at children:
- Makeup and balloon twisting workshops
- Inflatable castle park, climbing wall and many more surprises
- Free cake and soft drinks for all attending children (cake available for celiacs too)
- Children’s show with dancing, competitions, magic and many other surprises
18.00 H. Opening of the attractions at the fair for Children’s Day, with half price on all fairground rides
22.00 H. Dance in the lively municipal marquee with the New Velada Orchestra
THURSDAY 17th
14.00 H. Opening of the various marquees:
- Children’s marquee open every day of the fair with activities for kids
- Marquee “Active Participation Centre”
San Pedro Alcántara I and II Centres, with dance and activities aimed at senior citizens with the following activities:
14.00 H. Lunch for all members from Centres I & II, followed by a dance with live music
- Marquees for the Day Fair with different bars and live music
- Marquees with its own programming in each one of them
18.00 H. Opening of the fairground attractions
19:00 H. to 21:00 H. “Day without noise” is an afternoon without music in the area of the attractions, aimed at the enjoyment of those with extreme sensitivity to noise and loud sounds
19.00 H. CONCERT – Performance by ANTONIO CORTÉS in the marquee for Senior Active Participation centres
22.00 H. Dance in the lively municipal marquee by the New Velada Orchestra
23.30 H. CONCERT – DVICIO live in concert at the municipal marquee (free admission until full)
Followed by a dance with the by New Evening Orchestra
FRIDAY 18TH
17.00 H. Main parade with equestrian and horse carriages. Itinerary: Avda. Pablo Ruiz Picasso (zone C /Santa Beatriz), C /Lagasca, C /Andalucía, Avda. SATURDAY 19TH
09.00 H. Eucharist in the Parish of St. Pedro of Alcántara
11.00 H. Mass offered by D.Francisco Javier Sánchez-Cano, Pastor of
San Pedro Alcántara, in the Parish in honour of the town’s patron saint.
12.30 H. Procession of Our Patron Saint San Pedro de Alcántara. Itinerary: Church square, C / Revilla, C / Lagasca, C / Jérez, C /Marqués del Duero, C / Hernán Cortés, C / 19 October, Avda. Oriental, Church Square and to his temple.
13.00 H. Opening of the different marquees
