Renovated Childrens Park Fuente Nueva

The San Pedro de Alcantara City Council has completed the comprehensive remodeling project of the 1,250 square meter square located next to Calle Del Pilar, in San Pedro Alcántara. It includes a new pirate-themed children’s games area with soft surfaces.

The Marbella mayoress, Ángeles Muñoz, visited the renovated equipment and park area in the Fuentenueva neighborhood of San Pedro and stated, “this has been done in response to a demand from the residents of the area to fix the damage that the time and use had caused over the years.”

She explained that they had replaced the cobblestones in the square that were raised and uneven because of the roots of the trees, which has been solved by putting a concrete base under the new pavement to prevent it reoccurring in the future.

Subsequent to the work undertaken the area now boasts a new rainwater network, public lighting, with six units of led lights. There is also new street furniture, with six wooden benches.

Regarding the new children’s area, the mayor went on to explain that it has been completely remodeled and adapted so that it now caters for younger children as well, something that the local residents had also requested.

The new flooring is also much more striking as it is three colors instead of the previously monochromatic one.

The mayoress said “We made a commitment to the communities in the local area that this work would be finished before Easter Week, while taking on board their requests, and it is now a reality”.
