San Pedro Christmas lights schedule

Although San Pedro doesn’t have snow over Christmas, it is still exciting to enjoy the many events the town has planned for us, and starting tomorrow, Friday, the traditional Christmas light up for the season will take place, with all the festive decorations throughout the town.

This year there will be 96 light arches, 18 motifs on streetlamps, 11 illuminated trees, a main Christmas tree, six signs, ten grouped motifs, a façade of lights on the town hall building, and 14 standing figures. A total of 869,000 LED points distributed throughout San Pedro, including the popular Christmas ball that is installed for a second consecutive year. As a novelty ‘El Bosque’ (The Wood) is being set up in Marqués del Duero, San Pedro’s main high street, with a set of vertical luminous ornaments that simulate a walk through an illuminated forest!

A wide programme of activities has also been prepared that also begins on Friday 30th, with a parade leaving from the Plaza de Istán at 17:00hrs, at 17:30hrs Santa’s Grotto opens up for the little ones in C/ Córdoba Nº1, at 18:00hrs there will be a children’s entertainment show and at 19:00hrs the switch on of the Christmas ball lights and music show. Until the end of the Christmas season the light show will go on every day at 18:30hrs and 20:30hrs.

After tomorrow’s light switch event, José Manuel Soto (acclaimed Andalusian singer, well known in Spain) will give a free concert on C/Marqués del Duero.
