The Hogan Stand

The Hogan Stand Irish pub in San Pedro is more than a pub, it is a community where people come together to enjoy that traditional Irish hospitality. It is a comfortable place to enjoy live sports, dance to live music at the weekends and to make new lifelong friends.

The Hogan Stand is owned by husband and wife Ross and Amy, supported by a great team of staff behind the bar, on the floor and in the kitchen.

There is a varied menu of international cuisine from traditional fish and chips and gourmet burgers to more exotic plates like Malaysian curry. The Sunday roast is always in huge demand so booking is advised.

The Hogan Stand Happy Hour (in true Irish form is actually 2 hours) from 5pm to 7pm every Friday, and always pulls in a good crowd.

Ross is a keen golfer and has helped to grow a golf society called the Hogan Hackers. They play every week at different courses with a drink and some nibbles back at the pub afterwards before the awards ceremony. There are both men and women involved and it is a well run and fun golf society.

TWO DAY EVENT

Every November (pandemic aside), the society has run a very successful 2 day golf event on a Friday and Saturday, playing two different courses and finishing up with a gala dinner night at the Hogan Stand on the Saturday.

There are lots of prizes up for grabs and of course a fabulous 2 days of golf in the sun (fingers crossed).

The event is ALWAYS sold out on a first come first served basis, and this year is no exception. Golfers will be heading to both Los Flamingos and El Paraiso courses on both days.

Golfers from Ireland, the UK and here on the coast will all take part with many travelling over especially for the event.

We will bring you more details of the Hogan Hackers Golf Society in another article in due course but, look out on social media for some photos of the event. I will be taking part and the only prize I have my eye on is the coveted wooden spoon!!
