Below we list the main festive events that are due to take place in San Pedro this year:
Thursday 5th December
Among the main activities planned for the following weeks and one of the kids’ favourites is Santa’s Grotto, which is held on Thursday 5th at 17.30hrs at the main Church Square. Make sure you take along your Christmas letter!
Followed at 18:00hrs by a children’s show called ‘Magic Christmas’, with inflatable castles in the Plaza de Istán for the entertainment of children of all ages.
Friday 6th December at 19:30hrs
A Flamenco Christmas Zambomba by Marta Álvarez in C/ Córdoba. Come and see typical flamenco Christmas singing and live dancing by San Pedro’s local flamenco teachers.
Saturday 7th December at 18:00hrs
Well-known actress and singer Gisela, who has also sung for Walt Disney Productions in Spain, will offer a children’s musical show in Avda. Marqués del Duero. Lots of people are expected to attend so get there early!
Sunday 8th December at 14:00hrs
Traditional Christmas Lunch in the San Pedro II Active Participation Centre and inauguration of the nativity scene ‘Belén Navideño’.
Followed at 18:00hrs with a Christmas classical music concert with a quartet: ‘Music with Arches’ in the Church Square.
Friday 13th December
17:00hrs Pastoral Parades at the following points:
C/Córdoba, Marqués del Duero, C/ Pozo, C/19 octubre, C/Revilla, Plaza Iglesia, Plaza María Román, Marqués del Duero, C/Pozo, C/Pizarro, C/Revilla, Plaza de la Iglesia, Plaza María Román, Marqués del Duero, Plaza de la Iglesia, Plaza María Román, C/Lagasca, C/Revilla, Plaza de la Iglesia.
18:00hrs Pastoral Contest in the Plaza de la Iglesia (Church Square) with chocolate and churros tasting for all attendees.
Saturday 14th December
10:00 – 20:00hrs Christmas Street Market with the San Pedro Alcantara traders where all merchants will show their best Christmas offers and promotions on the public streets. Shop owners from Calle Lagasca, Avd Marqués del Duero and Calle Córdoba will all participate.
The day will come to completion with Christmas performances and shows across the whole area of the market.
Throughout the day the following activities will take place:
- Animated Christmas Parade ‘The circus’
- Charanga musical performances
- Dance Academy contest
- Radio programme ‘El Aguinaldo’ of the 40 principals radio network
- Party ending, with Christmas Zambomba from Olé radio on Avd. Marqués del Duero with the following artists: José Manuel “El Mani”, Corraleras de Lebrija, Raquel Gutiérrez and José Manuel Olmo
Tuesday 17th December
17:00hrs Children’s Christmas Party in Avd. Marqués del Duero with a variety of activities for smaller kids.
Thursday 19th December
19:30hrs Christmas Flamenco in Calle Ávila.
20:30hrs Christmas Concert ‘Coral Polifónica Ciudad de Marbella’ at the Cultural Centre Trapiche of Guadaiza. Free entrance until full.
Friday 20th December
20:00hrs Lyrical Christmas concert with ‘María Rosa and Friends’ at the Cultural Centre Trapiche of Guadaiza.
Saturday 21st December
12:00hrs Inaugural Children’s Party on the boulevard ‘Party of Ice’. From 21st to 26th from 12:00hrs till 20:00hrs, attractions and inflatables will be on the boulevard San Pedro. Free entry.
12:00hrs to 16:00hrs Turkey Race, departure/arrival point San Pedro Alcántara promenade. Registration: 1 Kilo of non-perishable food and up to one hour before the departure of each category.
18:00hrs to 20:00hrs Kilo Race, departure/arrival point Marqués del Duero. Registration: 1 kilo of non-perishable food and must be formalised through the www.dorsalchip.es platform.
Sunday 22nd December
12:00hrs Christmas Biker Meeting from the Municipal Tent of San Pedro. Registration: 1 Kilo of non-perishable food. Route: C/Jorge Guillen, C / Teniente Rieira, C / Castilla, C / Fuente Nueva, Avd. Oriental, C / Pepe Osorio, Avd. Luis Braille, C / Manuel González Portilla, C / Linda Vista, C / Eduardo Evangelista, Avd. Of the Constitution,C / Jerez, C / Lagasca, C / October 19,C / Pablo Ruíz Picasso, C / Bahía, C / Caravaca, C / Marqués de Estella, Avd. Monday 23rd December
17:00hrs Christmas Flamenco in the Church Square with a performance from the ‘Flamenco Solo Dance’ school directed by Ana Belén Guerrero.
Sunday 29th December
18:00hrs Málaga Band Christmas Concert at Avd. Marqués del Duero.
