The town council has recently approved new development licences for various projects to be carried out in both Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara. The Mayor, Angeles Muñoz, together with the deputy mayor for San Pedro, Javier García, has given the green light to building permits for construction developments of 160 homes, 24 industrial buildings, 270 car parks and a greenhouse, with a budget of 57 million euros in the municipality. The town hall has expressed that these figures reflect “the important economic activity that continues to generate within this district.”
The authorities have detailed that the majority for these planned real estate projects will be located on the eastern side of Marbella, with licence approvals for 56 homes, twelve of them semi-detached and two other single-family homes near the main hospital area, with a budget of 17.5 million euros. Another 16 in Samisol will be added (3.5 million euros), together with a promotion of 70 units in Elviria (24 million), a single-family home in Nueva Andalucía (1 million) and 15 more properties in La Pepina (4.2 million), also in the outer area of the municipality.
In other news, it is reported that a substantial boost is to be carried out on the second phase of San Pedro’s industrial estate (Polígono Industrial), which is due to an agreement that has been reached with Endesa and Hidralia to facilitate electric and water connections and enables the first licences for industrial buildings. Specifically, the construction of 24 new industrial units and 270 additional parking spaces will be constructed in this development area, with a budget of 3.7 million euros. The Mayor made positive comments to the project adding: “Finally, this phase begins.”
Another project that will be taking place in San Pedro is the creation of a greenhouse in El Potril, on the land adjacent to the industrial estate, with an investment of 1.6 million euros and set over 20,000m2.
